![]() ![]() ![]() So when we came back to Canada, after posting in Newfoundland in the fall of '41, they said, "You're going to be a tank unit." And at that time we all looked at one another and wondered what tanks were, and so on, in 1941. Newfoundland at that time didn't belong to Canada. ![]() Well, with the unit I was with, interestingly enough, we were an infantry battalion in Canada for two years, and we had been posted to Newfoundland. He was a part of the invasion forces on D-Day. Radley Walters was a tank commander in the Canadian Army, and was the Western Allies’ leading tank destroyer in WWII.
